What's included in a tune-up?

Whether you use your bike to escape to the mountains, conquer NYC potholes, or enjoy the parks, it's a good idea to bring it in for a tune-up regularly. Parts wear and cables stretch, which affects the quality of your ride. In addition to a la carte labor, we offer four tune-up packages, from basic to comprehensive. Bring your bike by any of our locations for a free estimate, and we can talk about which tune the most appropriate option for you.

Note: Prices listed are for services only and do not include parts unless otherwise noted. Parts costs vary with bike and replacement needs.

Basic Tune-up

Our basic tune-up will make sure all major systems of the bike are adjusted, safe, and functional. Ideal after your bike has seen some wear or storage, when parts still have life left but need adjustment. Cost: $75. Includes:

  • gears, brakes, and bearings adjusted
  • wheels trued laterally
  • full safety check

Annual Tune-up

Our annual tune-up helps prepare your bike for another year of daily use. Recommended for riders who use their bike frequently, or when your drivetrain has started to wear out. Cost: $150. Includes everything from a Basic, plus:

  • drivetrain and frame cleaning
  • wheels trued laterally and radially
  • includes labor to replace parts

The Overhaul

Our most thorough service offering. The bike is stripped down to the frame, and all components are meticulously cleaned, re-lubricated and prepped, and any necessary frame alterations are made. Cost: $300. Includes everything from the Annual, plus:

  • all components cleaned & lubricated
  • all bearings overhauled or replaced
  • cables & housing replaced (tune includes a $40 credit towards our bulk cables & housing)
  • also includes 15% off any additional parts

The best way to diagnose a problem is at the shop, with the help of one of our friendly mechanics. When you come in for a free estimate, we will do our best to suggest the most appropriate and cost effective service menu item. Our goal is to keep you riding smoothly, safely, and comfortably.
