CatEye Commuter

CatEye's Commuter is the ultimate accessory for those who go by bike. Its easy-to-read large display shows all the standard cycling stats you expect like speed, average speed and time, plus helpful and fun information like estimated time of arrival, temperature and even how much carbon emissions you are saving. And you'll love the simple press-on-the-computer design that lets you change modes easily even when you're wearing heavy gloves.

Device only works if base doesn't keep breaking :S

Pros

  • Easy to Read
  • Accurate
  • Lightweight

Cons

  • Not Durable
  • Handlebar Mount

Best Uses

Comments:

I have no qualms with the device itself, but it's unusable if I cannot attach it to the base. Twice now the base clip has snapped so that the device cannot be securely snapped into place. My last Cateye never gave me this problem and worked for ~2 years. A) I need to know how to get a new base and B) perhaps a redesign is in order or C) something is wonky with my device.

Comments:

Didn't buy at [...] but they helped me with it after I spent 3 hours with no luck. It's all set now and I can even set it myself. BUT it has the worst method of sliding it on and off I have ever seen. I now have it in a handlebar bag and only get to see it when my trip is done. I have tried silcone and oil but still too hard for me. I know how to do it but it takes too much strength and was just leaving it on the bike at stores.
