Comments:

I had a CyleOps Magneto trainer for about 6 weeks. As time went on it got noisier and noisier. Finally I took it back to the local bike shop where I bought it and upgraded to the Fluid2 with a full credit for the Magneto. The bike shop agreed that something was rattling around badly inside and the noise level was way too high. While I was using the Magneto (and while it was still quiet), I liked the ride, very road like, and the gears adjusted the resistance very well. I originally got the trainer shortly after having knee surgery and needed a way to exercise without putting stress on my knee. The Magneto filled the bill.

Still Going Strong after TEN YEARS

About Me Competitive Cyclist

Pros

  • Durable
  • Long-lasting
  • Stable
  • Quiet
  • Easy to Install and Use
  • Dependable

Cons

  • Might Need Skewer

Best Uses

  • Indoor Training

Comments:

I have used my Magneto Trainer for about TEN YEARS in my basement, outdoor porch (after injury stability recovery/training rides), and office for training during inclement weather, winter, and one-foot training. TEN YEARS and it is STILL functioning like the first day I bought it. Seriously awesome heavy duty quality (maybe I should oil it or something?--never ever done any maintenance). It is quieter than wind or other trainers, but inexpensive enough for a graduate student to buy with Christmas money. After ten years, I have not regretted the money I spent on this trainer--nor the choice of trainer--not one bit. I may not have ridden much the first five years, but the past five years, I have put over 4,000 miles on this trainer. IF you use Zwift, with your cell phone and cadence/speed sensor, this trainer will work! No need to get a dongle or a computer-connected trainer!

High quality product and great customer service

About Me Casual/Recreational Rider

Comments:

I originally ordered the Mag Trainer and there was defect in the resistance weight. The customer service made up for this 110% and sent me the resistance weight that upgraded my trainer to the Magneto. I've used this several times now and love it. It's very sturdy and a high quality piece of equipment. I break a decent sweat with a 45 minute ride. I needed something to help lower my cholesterol and stay in shape during the winter months. It's well worth the investment because I know I will get a solid workout for years to come.

I got this as a Christmas gift and absolutley love it! I miss my bike during winter and this thing is a near perfect substitue. It is very quiet for use indoors and very easy to set up. I use it several times a week for about an hour at a time and haven't had one problem. Also when your done it folds up nice and stores easily.

This is my first time using a trainer. It was easy to assemble and only took about 15 minutes to set up. Ride is stable and simulates road conditions well.

I just set up my new Magneto that I am using for training while I recover from a broken collar bone. It is surprisingly realistic. Of course acceleration happens much faster because I am only spinning up the back wheel. Slow down happens much faster as well. I would really like to have a chart that relates wheel speed in mph on the Magneto to watts.

Just bought and was on in 5 minutes. Spent some time on it with my tri-bike. Going to try with road bike later. I highly recommend. Very stable. Smooth increase in resistance, feels very close to real road.
