I use my new Lime Green 7.3 FX daily for traveling around our large retirement community, going shopping and for 12 to 15 mile rides once or twice a week. I've been riding a Trek 7500 for years, but now I wanted something faster with a more aggressive seating position. The 7.3 FX fits my needs perfectly. I can't get over how lightweight, fast and responsive it is. This is also the first bike I've bought where I found the seat that came with it very comfortable. Although I'm not crazy about the color (I thought the mat-black was just beautiful) I got it for its visibility. Being highly visible is very important around my riding area. If it is possible to say one loves his bike that's how I feel about this bike. It is just so much fun a real joy to ride.

This year I decided to move up from a lower level Trek that I've had for 11 years. (Navigator) Initially I wasnt sure how many dollars I wanted to pay. I took the 7.3 around the block at my local bike shop and I was hooked. I ended up spending another $100- 200 more than I initially planned but I'm happy I did!!! On this bike I am able to go so much farther and faster than my old one, cycling has been a joy this summer. The only negative for me was the saddle, but I replaced that with one more comfortable to me.

I bought this bike a few weeks ago and am really enjoying it. I can't wait to go out riding. This bike pulls you forward. It glides just beautifully. I had walked into my LBS after doing a fair bit of research into other hybrids and pretty much had settled on the Trek Verve 3, which is about as comfortable as you can get in a bike. But at the last minute I asked about and tried the FX 3 and with one stroke of the pedal, I was hooked. I could clearly feel the difference between the comfort hybrid and the performance hybrid and in the end I opted for performance. The store owner described it as the difference between a Lincoln and a BMW! I rode it home from the bike store and simply loved it. The fit is terrific and it responds very well, feeling nimble and relatively quick for a hybrid. Plus, it's light. I love the looks and the color - I got viper red and switched out a more comfortable saddle. The isozone grips and 27 speeds are great features. I'm really glad I went for performance over comfort this time around.

      Comments:

In fairness to the review, this is my first Trek bike and I've never owned a road bike or hybrid before this one. So coming off of riding nothing but mountain bikes, this was a drastic improvement. It glides so nicely and I can ride so much faster. I just rode 60 miles the other day and I plan to ride my first century on this bike. The Iso Zone handles are very comfortable and I love how smoothly the gears change. My only problem with it is that it is quite rigid, so you definitely feel every bump, especially going over railroad tracks. If that is a huge issue for you, consider upgrading to the 7.4 or 7.5. Other than that, I have no regrets buying this bike, it was worth every penny!

This bike is a pleasure to ride! Since I got this beautiful Viper Red bike (about two weeks ago). I CANT STOP RIDING!!! I ride about an hour a day on the weekends, and use it for some quick trips to the store (2 miles). I look forward to riding after work and on weekends. It doesn't matter - I am riding my Trek. For the money - you cant beat this bike. Trek makes fantastic products and would not buy anything else but Trek bikes. This bike is not clumsy or heavy and it has the familiar feel of a mountain bike with half the weight. It cruises along roads with ease and handles extremely well. Smooth, lightweight, swift, and sleek. [The 700x32c (ranges from 24-38) tires make it really sweet! Overall, GREAT bike and GREAT fun! Ride safe!"Overall I love this bike! It's changed my world completely and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking to get into biking for getting into shape.

        Comments:

After doing a lot of research for a new hybrid bike, I opted for the 7.3 FX. It was absolutely the best choice. The bike handles well and is relatively stable even for its aluminium frame. The bike isnt the lightest but it is light enough for me. What I love is how this bike can pick up a fair amount of speed and the gear shifting is terrific for the price range. You can barely hear the gears change - it is so subtle that it is almost silent. The handlebars are also good and the pedals are decent. The only thing I swapped out was the incredibly uncomfortable seat. I recommend you do the same, especially if you plan on spending a lot of time on the bike. Otherwise this is about as good of a hybrid bike you will get in this price range. Fantastic buy!

This is one good bike. I have owned this bike about 2 months and have put over 600 miles on it, it has done great. I have never seriously ridden an expensive road bike so I am a little unsure on how they compare. I have gone 48 mph and it handles super smooth going that fast, so that is a reassurance. Another great Trek product.

        Comments:

I bought this bike in June 2010 and it now has about 2600 km on it (1560 miles). I tend to ride frequent short rides, though I often ride a few hours and occasionally go for a full day ride. I regularly clean and lube using biodegradable all-purpose products and a wax based chain lube. When my wife was buying an FX 7.3 WSD I took a test ride on the FX 7.3 and immediately loved it. After decades of riding a "comfort" oriented hybrid this is now my favourite bike because of its comfort, speed and quality. The only maintenance required on these bikes has been a 1/8 turn on a front derailleur adjusting screw on my bike. I highly recommend the 7.3 especially if you haven't tried a bike with this geometry and this quality of components. By the way, we did not experience any improvement when riding other models in the FX series.
