Details

Dahon's Speed Uno is always ready for fun and pure riding pleasure. This versatile folding bike features a strong, light and responsive chromoly frame and nimble aluminum 20-inch wheels. For easy cruising and low maintenance, it has a one-speed drivetrain with an easy-to-operate coaster brake. A chain cover and kickstand are included for your riding convenience, too.

Folding and unfolding has never been easier or more secure! Dahon's DoubleLok means that every latch has a secondary lock for maximum safety, which also serves as a reminder to make sure the latch is properly secured before riding.
Thanks to Dahon's simple and ingenious magnetic latching system that holds the bike neatly together when folded, when you lift or carry this bike it stays together in one neat package. You'll really appreciate this when you're carrying it upstairs, running to catch a bus or lifting the bike into a car trunk.

Comments:

I had been researching this bike for a while and found one at the Scarsdale store. I test rode it and fell in love. The staff were patient and accommodating and answered all my folding bike questions. I had been looking for a good commuting bike in the city that I can also take on the train. It was also important that the bike be extremely minimalist with no chance of multiple parts that could break while I peddle to work. The flat black makes this bike look tough (and it is tough). It rides great on NYC streets. I was amazed how quick this bike launches off the line. It is much faster than you would anticipate. I immediately updated the saddle as the original was too wide for me. I also went back a few months later and had a 14t rear gear put on. The 17t it came with tops out too soon making it feel like you are spinning madly. I eventually added bullhorn bars to it for a more aggressive ride stance. It already turned quick, I just wanted something more personal to me. Using the coaster brakes took a little getting used to but there is no reason to add a brake cable. Overall a fun bike to ride that is easy to maintain and can take a beating.
